About Us
Oak Hill Guitar Works is my repair shop located in Lancaster, Pennsylvania offering setup and repair services for all brands of electric and acoustic guitars and basses. I am a Fender Silver Level Certified Guitar Technician and my love affair with guitars began in 1982 at the age of 13 when I was given a Vox Stroller electric guitar by a neighbour in my home town of Croydon, England. In over 40 years since, I have owned, played and worked on just about every type and brand of guitar and bass you can think of.
I started my guitar repair journey in 2000. I had moved to Orlando, Florida from England in 1999 but returned home to see my father just before he passed away. While I was home I spent time in the South London shop of renowned British luthier Bernie Goodfellow, formerly of Goodfellow Guitars and more recently proprietor of GB Guitars. Bernie's friendship was invaluable in helping me get through a time of grief and without him I probably wouldn’t have started on this path. His infectious enthusiasm for building and repairing guitars really rubbed off on me, so upon my return to the USA I set about learning the craft and gaining as much experience as I could. I received a copy of 'The Guitar Player Repair Guide' by Dan Erlewine for my birthday that year and after that I was on my way.
Moving to Northern Virginia in 2008 I established my shop as Jade Guitars, which I operated for five years and in 2009 I became a Silver Level Certified Technician for Fender Musical Instruments Corp., one of the proudest moments of my career as a repair technician. In 2013 I renamed the shop Oak Hill Guitar Works to reflect where I was based and after relocating to Lancaster, Pennsylvania in 2021 I decided to continue with the Oak Hill name once I had re-established my shop. I am proud to be able to offer my services to the music community here in Lancaster and I look forward to providing you the very best service I can.

Fender Certified
Since April 2009 I have been a silver level certified acoustic and electric guitar and bass technician for the Fender Musical Instruments Corporation. That means if you bring any guitar or bass from the Fender family of brands to me for service you’ll have peace of mind knowing that it’s in the hands of someone certified by the same company that made your instrument.

Runway For A Cause Foundation, Laurel MD.
One cause we have recently connected with is the Runway For A Cause Foundation, a non-profit organization whose mission is to provide essential personal and household items free of charge to disadvantaged individuals and families in their immediate community. Through their mobile pantry program, they aim to meet basic needs and restore dignity by delivering necessities directly to those unable to afford them. With compassion and respect, they serve all recipients equally while protecting privacy, removing stigma and fostering human connection. In partnership with local social service agencies and local retailers, this organization continuously works to secure in-kind donations and funding so they can enhance lives by eliminating barriers created by poverty.
Oak Hill Guitar Works is proud to help promote this foundation and will be working alongside them to help expand their reach into Lancaster County.
